There will be 2 tracks for the Aperture Project treasure Hunt on August 9, 2014:
Track 1 will use a map to walk around downtown St. Johns and collect photos of the six locations on the map. Volunteer photographers will be walking through the locations, helping participants take interesting photos and teaching about photography using experiential learning. All locations are within a quarter mile of the St. John’s Plaza, and it is suitable for young and old alike.
Track 2 will be a scavenger hunt. Each location will have a photograph clue of the next location. Participants will hike down to the riverfront, taking photos of the St. john’s Bridge, Cathedral Park, and interesting historical locations along the way.
Here is a master legend of all the locations:
Track 1 – Aperture Map
Location 1 – Clock Tower
Location 2 – Blue Moon
Take a photo of the Blue Moon Logo in the window. How does reflected light affect your picture?
Location 3 – Signal Station
Can you take a picture of just one of the Signal signs? Or does composition require that both signs be in your picture?
Location 4 – Fence at James John School
Find an interesting way to use the holes in the fence for a cool photo.
Location 5 – St. John’s Library
Can you get all the columns in your picture?
Location 6 – McMenamin’s Theater and Pub
Find the eagle and snap a photo. What else in here would make a good photograph?
Bring your completed map back to the Central Hotel, so we can download your pictures and include them in our upcoming Art Show! Be sure and give us your name and email address, so we can attribute your photos to you.
